Regional Coodination

 

Central-Law’s regional coordination is done from our Costa Rican office. Our Executive Director Karina Villalobos coordinates all the firm’s administrative matters throughout the region, thus facilitating our client’s choice to simply handle their issues from only one place with reduced costs and expenses: One-stop-shopping-service philosophy. She is also in charge of developing marketing plans, public relations and capturing new clients for the firm.

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR PROFILE


Karina Villalobos Fernández was born in San José, Costa Rica.

 
EDUCATION: Graduated with a BS in Agricultural Sciences from EARTH University in Limón, Costa Rica in 1997 and is currently attending UNED University in San José, Costa Rica to get a post-graduate degree in “International Negotiations”. Ms. Villalobos will graduate with a Master’s degree in 2007.

AREA OF PRACTICE: Before working with Central-Law, Ms. Villalobos served from 2001 to 2005 in two of the top-five plant protection multinational corporations in the world, in the sales and marketing departments for Central America, Panama and Caribbean region. She even relocated to Guatemala for work from 2001 to 2003.    Ms. Villalobos has traveled throughout North and Central America, to some countries in South America and the Caribbean, enabling her to deal with and understand the needs of international clients.
 

pUBLICATIONS:

  • 2004-2005: Developed and published ABRIENDO BRECHA online magazine, aimed at sugar cane industry players in the Central America, Panama and Caribbean region.

  • 2005: “OPERA is what you hear in peanut plantations” article in BASF’s magazine “Noticias” for Mexico, Central America and Caribbean

  • 2006 Costa Rica: participated as volunteer in voting chambers during presidential elections for period 2006-2010

  • 2005 Costa Rica: BASF’s Award for “Successful  positioning of OPERA® fungicide in the peanuts market in Nicaragua”

  • 2005 Costa Rica: Coordinated charity drive in BASF and Citibank to help flooding victims in the Atlantic region

  • 2005 Guatemala: Participated in International Congress of Sugar Cane Technicians

  • 2004 Honduras: Lecturer in Congress of Sugar Cane Technicians

  • 2003 University of Costa Rica: participated in course “Why the CAFTA-DR with USA?”
