Central Law’s launching of “Tourism Unit”

Medina, Rosenthal & Fernández – Central Law Honduras, with the collaboration of its partners in CENTRAL LAW, organized a Tourism Conference, with the participation of the distinguished attorney at law Enrique De Marchena Kaluche, an expert in tourism practice areas, and founding and managing partner of De Marchena Kaluche & Asociados Central Law Dominican Republic.

 His presentation concerning the growth of the tourism sector and the secrets of success in Dominican Republic (Crecimiento del Sector Turístico: Los Secretos del Éxito de la Republica Dominicana) was greatly applauded by a select audience of the tourism and developing sector of Honduras, especially of the Bay Islands.  The Conference was held in Roatan in March of this year.  Attending as special guests were Secretary of State of the Presidency, Yani B. Rosenthal,  Secretary of State in Tourism, Ricardo Martinez, President of the National Chamber of Tourism in Honduras (CANATURH), Epaminondas Marinakys, Director of the Office of Contracting and Acquisitions of Honduras, Francisco Sibrian, along  Central Law partners: Juan Pablo Carrasco and Juan Manuel Díaz Duran (Guatemala); Piero Rusconi and Luis Medina (El Salvador); Yali Molina and Alvaro Molina (Nicaragua); Rafael Quiros (Costa Rica); and the hosts, Jesús Humberto Medina Alva and José Antonio Fernández Flores (Honduras), as well as other distinguished personalities.

During his presentation, attorney at law Enrique De Marchena Kaluche, gave an ample and detailed explanation of the tourism sector’s origins in Dominican Republic; the successful history of its policies; the success factors; and, the essential elements of the tourism sector, such as: Respect for the Environment, Investment in Human Resources, Adequate Infrastructure, culture valuation, among others. He concluded with the phrase: “Tourism is Everybody’s Business” (“El Turismo es la Empresa de Todos”)

 

For CENTRAL LAW, the conference was especially important; since it materialized the launching of the Firm’s Tourism Unit, lead by attorney at law Luis Medina, of Rusconi, Valdez, Medina & Asociados Central Law El Salvador, unit conformed by a team of specialists, dedicated to assisting the Tourism Sector of the region. This Tourism Unit supports the projects and ongoing strategic integrations, from the conception; to the execution of the projects; and managing issues such as: master planning, project financing, environmental advisory, among others. The proposal of the Tourism Unit of CENTRAL LAW is to prepare and implement strategies for investors in advanced, ongoing and new tourism markets.

 

 Attorney at law Enrique De Marchena, holds the Jamaican Honorary Consulate in the Dominican Republic; member of the Board of Directors of Emi Resorts Group; Vice President of the Caribbean Hotels Association (CHA); past president of the Association of Duty Free Stores in Dominican Republic; past president of the Council of Tourist Promotion, Inc.; and, past president of the National Association of Hotels and Restaurants (ASONAHORES).

 Attorney at law Luis Medina acted as legal counsel for the United Status Embassy, USAID in the Office of Democratic Initiatives; and furthermore, has a legal training in international e-commerce from the Hawksmere Institute in London.
