Seminars "Profiting from DR-CAFTA"
in El Salvador and Honduras

El Salvador and HONDURAS, CentraL AmErica --- With a high attendance of local and foreign businessmen, as well as U.S. consular officers, the seminars “PROFITING FROM DR-CAFTA” were held in El Salvador and Honduras, with guest speaker Mr. Thomas Travis, who has extensive experience in a wide variety of international trade and customs issues.

The seminars were organized in Honduras by Attorney Jesús Humberto Medina, Presiding Partner of Abogados y Asesores Corporativos Central Law and in El Salvador by Attorney Luis A. Medina, partner of Rusconi, Valdez, Medina & Asociados Central Law, along with the American Chambers of Commerce -AMCHAM- in each country.

 

This sort of activities are part of Central Law’s Business Intelligence Unit, specialized service to provide clients on both local and regional level, with tools to benefit from the DR-CAFTA commercial treaty with USA. Attorney Luis A. Medina developed and leads the BIU service for the whole region where Central Law operates.

 

 

 
 

Guests to the seminar “PROFITING FROM DR-CAFTA” in Honduras

 
 

Guest speaker Mr. Travis, in both seminars referred to specific subjects about profitable industrial development with the ratification of the DR-CAFTA. He presented examples of the manufacturing industry, of relevant economic importance in the Central American region, that accounts for 51% of the GDP in Honduras and thousands of jobs in El Salvador. To summarize, he expressed clearly how to benefit from the DR-CAFTA.

He possesses extensive knowledge on subjects such as the classification, valuation, and origin of imported merchandise; preference systems; and free trade agreements between the U.S. and its trading partners. He is a distinguished speaker and has been highly praised for his presentations.”
