“Civil Procedure
Code annotated with jurisprudence”, is the
ninth book written by Attorney Jaime Barrantes |
“Some people may consider it a
long time, and others quite short, but the fact is
that we gathered all the information for the book
in four months. During this time, my
co-authors and I
tried to accomplish in a very professional and
expedite way, the goal of getting all the work
done with the little time left from our jobs and
family obligations”
said Mr. Barrantes, who joined Quirós &
Asociados Central Law firm over six years ago
as an associate attorney. This firm is member of
the regional firm CENTRAL LAW, the only one
with offices in all Central America, Panama and
Dominican Republic.
“Civil Procedure Code annotated
with jurisprudence” has a length of over one
thousand and seven hundred pages that include not
only the articles of the Civil Procedure Code, but
also the judicial doctrine relevant with this
matter.
With a Masters degree, a Doctorate
Degree in Commercial Law and twenty two years of
practice, Mr. Barrantes published his first book
in 1997 titled “The interest rate clause of a
credit card contract”.
With little more than a month after
being released, the first edition of one thousand
five hundred copies of the “Civil Procedure
Code annotated with jurisprudence” forecasted
to be sold out in the first days of December, is
in fact, almost gone. “We will think very
carefully about a reprint, because the books are
sold directly by us (the authors) and we intend on
keeping it that way with the other publications we
release”, emphasized Mr. Barrantes.
Mr. Barrantes is already
researching and writing two more books that he
will publish next year, in time for his fifty-one
birthday! He says that the books he has written
and published not only satisfy him as a career man
but “it is his way of encouraging his
colleagues to keep on studying and improving their
professional level and broadening their knowledge”.
His literary work co-written with
colleague Evelyn
Salas includes: Costa Rica’s “Consumer and
competition Law 7472 -2003” “Costa Rica’s
Commercial Code annotated with
jurisprudence-2006”; Costa Rica’s
“Condominium Law 7933, commented, concordant and
annotated-2006”; “Costa Rica’s Civil Code
annotated with jurisprudence-2004” and Costa
Rica’s “Notarial Code-2006”, among others.
Definitely, these books have become a must-have
for attorneys and law students throughout the
country.
