Effective Labor Inspection Law which guarantees rights to employees

On March 15, 2017 came into force in Honduras, the Labor Inspection Act. The norm was recently approved by the National Congress on January 19, 2017 and its regulation is pending in the next three months. It was drafted between the public and private sectors under the advice of the International Labor Organization (ILO).

The objective of the Labor Inspection Law is to guarantee the rights of workers regarding working hours, minimum wages, social security, adequate safety and health conditions and to verify compliance with these and all the commitments made between employers and employees of the private sector in the Labor Code. Work.

The law imposes sanctions on employers who do not comply with the regulations which consist in fines that will be applied in a fixed amount to every employer, having one or thousand employees.
